Public Notice - Proposed Zoning Map Amendment 2026R-116: Second Reading Scheduled November 10, 2026
Meade County Fiscal Court will hold a second reading and consider possible adoption of Zoning Map Amendment No. 2026R-116 on November 10, 2026, in the main courtroom of the Meade County Courthouse, 516 Hillcrest Drive, Brandenburg, Kentucky.
The request, submitted by owners and applicants Carlton and Margaret Haynes, proposes rezoning approximately 12 acres at 490 D.E. Brown Road, Brandenburg, KY 40108, from R1 Residential to A1 Agricultural. The property is identified as PVA Map 103-00-00-169.00. Proposed uses include timber, raising chickens, ducks and turkeys, and gardening.
Following a public hearing at its September 10, 2026, special meeting, the Meade County Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval without conditions. Fiscal Court gave the amendment its first reading on October 13, 2026, with approval by at least a majority of its members. The amendment has not yet been adopted.
The proposed amendment changes the property’s zoning classification only. It does not authorize a new dwelling, travel-trailer occupancy or utility connection, and it does not determine rights under a private well agreement. Applicable regulations, private covenants and deed restrictions remain in effect.
The full amendment and associated Findings of Fact are available from the Meade County Planning and Zoning Office at the Meade County Courthouse, 516 Hillcrest Drive, Brandenburg, Kentucky 40108.
